Habit 1: Be Proactive
Habit 2: Begin with the end in mind 

 
Identify emotions: What are they? Where do you feel it in your body? How can some emotions feel the same in your body? Can you name it to tame it? What are things/situations that make you feel a certain way? What might be your body language and or tone of voice? How do you know where you are to know how to act? Why is it important to know how you are feeling? What are things or people that make you feel better?

Accurate self-Perception: Who are you? What do you look like? What type of family do you have? Traditions, Food, Housing, Religion, Hobies, Likes, Dislikes,etc. What makes you unique? What do you have in common with others? How do you think you learn the best? What are personal character traits? What distracts you? How do you feel when you feel respected, safe? What are things you can control? What are things you can’t control? What does it mean to be in the moment?

How can you show respect to yourself? What do you need to improve? Are you trustworthy? Are you a good listener?

Habit 3: Put First Things First 

 
Impulse Control: How do you control your body? (Excited, tired, frustrated,sad, etc.)You are still responsible for what you say and do no matter how you feel. What are ways/tools you know you can use to have self control? Why is it important to know where you are to control your body? What does it mean to code switch? What does it mean to be in the moment?

Stress Management: What makes you feel frustrated? What makes you stressed or have anxiety? What does your body feel like when you are stressed or worried? How do you name it to tame it? What can  you do to help yourself and not blame others? What does it mean to work then play? How can the Brain House help you? Do you think sometimes you cause your own stress? When do you forgive yourself or others?

Self-Discipline: Who are some people you know that have self-discipline? Do you sometimes have to do things you don’t want to do? What are good habits? What are bad habits? How does being a responsible person help you have discipline? How does putting first things first help you? What does it mean to procrastinate? How do you feel when you have worked hard at something? How does having a growth mindset help you have self discipline? Who are some people you have read about or know that showed resilience? What does an excellent listener look like? Why is it important to not make excuses? What are natural consequences?

Self-Motivation: What is a positive attitude? How can you have the right attitude? What are some ways you can have a positive attitude? Can you control your own attitude? How does a growth mindset help you have a positive attitude? How do the habits we have learned about help you have a positive attitude? Goal Setting: What do you remember about setting goals? Have you met your goals from the beginning of the year? Are the goals you set still important to you? Many people in the new year set goals for themselves, but do not have any action so they do not reach their goals. Why is having an action plan important? Communication: What are different ways to communicate? Do you sometimes use different words with your family and friends than with people who work at your school? How does knowing where you are and who you are talking to help you find the right words, use the right tone, facial expressions, and body language? How do you know when to communicate and with who? How do you not interrupt? How do you show others you are listening? What does it mean to be a good listener and speaker? What have you learned so far about being a good listener? Social Engagement: How do you communicate in different situations? Do you play a sport? How do you communicate at lunch, when you are eating? March - April - Responsible Decision Making

 
Identify Problems, Analyze situations, Solve problems, Evaluate, Reflect: This is where students review what they have learned so far during the year to be responsible at decision making. What are some decisions you have had to make? Why are some easy and some harder?How does knowing where you are help you? How does taking a moment to look at the situation and analyze first before you make a decision on what to do? What communication skills do you have to help you? How do you reflect if what you did was a good decision? Why is it important to have skills to be a responsible decision maker? How do you go back and try to make something better if it didn’t work the first time? Who do you have in your life to help you make decisions if you are not able to do it on your own or you need more help? How does this help you be a good student? How does this help you be a better part of the community?
