August, 2023

Dear Parents and Families of Highlands Elementary,

We are very excited to welcome you back for the 2023-2024 school year.  The summer is a great time to recharge and just enjoy.  The Highlands staff has done so and are ready to be back to being our best for you and our students!

With Highlands being a Community School, we have worked hard to provide an environment that is welcoming to all.  We do have a doorbell should you need to access office staff or are picking a student up early, or have arranged a classroom/school visit with our staff once our year has gotten underway.  More than anything we want to ensure that our campus is safe.

Preschool, TK and Kinder families, along with students new to our school will be allowed to walk students to their classrooms on the first day of school only.  All students will be greeted by teachers and staff. Rest assured that we will make sure students get to their appropriate classrooms with ease.  For students that may need more time getting comfortable with the newness of school, we will take each of these as case by case and work to support the transition with families.

We look forward to seeing you all soon.
Sincerely,

Julie Blackburn
