English Learning Advisory Council

What is the ELAC?

The ELAC is a committee that holds meetings that can advise on programs and services for English learners and the School Site Council on the development of the single Plan for Student Achievement.

Why is attending ELAC meetings important?

The ELAC in Highlands Elementary assists the school in the development of the following: The school's needs assessment, the school's annual language census, and help find ways to make parents aware of the importance of regular school attendance. If you have a student that is an English language learner or a student that is in ELD classes at school, please join the meetings so that you can become better informed of the way they are being taught during that time of day.
